Signed as a replacement for struggling Phil DeRouville in 07/8 season, just as the Basingstoke Bison encountered financial problems forcing Lyle to leave in search of a new job.
When hot, few goalies around can better Lyle as shown when he backstopped the longest winning streak in Giants history.
A change of coach when Steve Thornton came on board only served to cement Lyle as the Giants number 1 goalie when he signed a two year contract.
Lyle being British gives the Giants the bonus of being able to sign an extra import out skater while still giving the team a chance to win most nights.
