Brought in by coach Ed Courtenay to do the enforcing for the 2005-2006 Giants, Shawn Skiehar went about his work quietly and efficiently, taking on all comers, and beating most. Held in high esteem by team mates and coach alike, Shawn was also named as an Alternate Captain on the 2005-2006 Giants team.
Although not afraid of anyone, or afraid of putting his body on the line for the cause by blocking shot after shot, Shawn displayed a clever temperament, only fighting when needed by the team.
Shawn also displayed a knack for scoring important goals, especially in playoff hockey, along with some of the best defensive forward play seen in the Teal and White.
