Local netminder Hugh Smyth was called up by the Belfast Giants, as a back-up for Chris McGimpsey, whilst first choice goalie Martin Klempa served a one game suspension.
Smyth returned to backup duties for the 06/07 season when Kevin Kelly departed due to personal reasons, and has now signed on permanently for 2007/8
