George Awada joined the Giants after spending a season with Elite League rivals the Manchester Phoenix.
His tough committed playing style earned him high praise in Manchester where he immediately became a fan favourite. He had another superb season in Belfast, and as George wasted no time in racking up the points and the plaudits for the Giants.
George's commitment to the team earned him the "Coaches Player Of The Year" award at the end of season awards dinner.
For the 2005-2006 season, George was named as Captain for the Belfast Giants, a role he has held ever since.
