A first round pick in the 1992 NHL draft, Curt played two seasons in the ISL before joining the Giants, with Nottingham Panthers in 1999 and Manchester Storm in 2000.
Joining the Belfast Giants in 2001, Curt was part of the Giants' ISL League winning team and returned the following year to help the team take the ISL Playoff title.
In 2003, Curt took on the role of Giants' Assistant Coach, under Head Coach Rob Stewart and retained the position when Tony Hand took over as Head Coach the following season.
After the Head Coach position, for 2005-2006, was turned down by both Tony Hand and Dave Whistle, the job was offered to Curt. However, he also declined the offer stating a lack of time (6 weeks) to create a competitive team as his reason.
Curt later signed as a player for the Nottingham Panthers, but after four seasons with the Giants, leaves the team as their all-time leading points scorer
