Doug joins Belfast as coach from Edinburgh with a growing reputation, but will have a hard act to follow replacing playoff winning coach Steve Thornton.
Only expecting to play in event of injuries, Doug can fill in either up front or on defence.
Doug is another player to have made several appearances in the AHL, but has also put up many PIM as a hard edged player throughout his career, a style many will hope he promotes as a coach.
