22-Sep-2011Guess who's back? With John Pelle and captain Jeremy Rebek in the treatment room, the Belfast Giants have turned to former captian George Awada to fill a temporary spot on the roster.
Awada spent six seasons with the Giants, including five as captain after arriving from the Manchester Phoenix side in 2004/5. Awada holds the current record number of goals for the Giants with 142 in 334 games, a total many thought may not be caught for a long time, and now Awada has the chance to extend that further!
This weekend the Giants host both the Fife Flyers and Nottingham Panthers on Friday and Saturday nights respectively. Two wins will put the Giants proudly atop the standings before they go on an extended run of away games, with no game in the Odyssey Arena for almost a month.
