Time To Play Devils n' Rays!

Friday sees the Belfast Giants take on, quite possibly, the best prepared team in this early part of the season.

While this will be the Hull Stingrays' first game of the regular season they will have already clocked up double the ice time of the home team having played 5 preseason games, all against high class opposition, scoring some 27 goals.

The Stingrays face a Giants team which struggled somewhat against a Steelers team still finding its' feet and without last seasons top points scorer Jon Pelle.

For the first time since entering the Elite League the Stingrays may pose a significant threat to the bigger teams, already proving their worth against "sister team" the Coventry Blaze en route to winning the P&O cup.

The Giants will then travel Saturday to the Big Blue Tent in Cardiff Bay facing a team righting itself after a summer of turmoil.

The Devils split their opening weekend series with the Panthers turning a 6-1 defeat in the NIC into a 4-1 victory at home.

Both games should present a challenge to Doug Christiansen's men as they attempt to gather some momentum early in the league campaign.
