Boston Bruins to Take on Giants
22-Jun-2010The Belfast Giants are to take a break from the domestic seasons demands and join forces with a few of the EIHL's best players as one of the NHL's "Original Six" the Boston Bruins become the first National Hockey League team to visit Ireland
Boston are to stop off in Belfast en route to their NHL Season Opener in Prague, to take on what is described on their Official Website as a "Belfast Giants Select"
The game will take place at the Odyssey Arena at 7pm on Saturday 2nd October 2010 and will see some of the sports elite take on "a unified team comprised of an All-Star selection of the best of the UK Elite League players from each team" (NHL.com)
In arguably the biggest game seen in the UK involving a "UK Team", the game is expected to draw a lot of enthusiastic supporters not only from the UK, but also a large ex-pat community from across the Atlantic.
The Belfast Giants are yet to make a formal announcement on ticketing for the game, more information will be posted upon release.
