The votes are in, the ballots counted and the winner of KotG MVP for the 2009/10 season in.... Stephen Murphy
Setting a new record for shut outs in a season with 8, Murphy has sat at the top of the goalie standings for much of the season claiming a goals against average of 2.30 and save % of 92.3 in 50 games in the Elite League.
Murphy joins an illustrious list of KotG MVP winners, a list which includes fellow goalies Mike Bales and Martin Klempa. Questioned as a signing by many fans prior to the season starting, most will be delighted to have been proven wrong, and look forward to Murphy returning for a second season in Belfast.
