Big Weekend for the Giants

Its a big weekend of games for the Coors Belfast Giants. Tonight they go toe to toe with the Manchester Phoenix before travelling on Saturday to Sheffield to take on the league leading Steelers.
Tony Hand brings his career 4001 points back to the Odyssey with his Phoenix side who run the Giants close only a few weeks ago. In a very even game the Giants ran out 4-3 winners, Deniset scoring a hat-trick winner with only 23 seconds remaining in the game.
Steve Thornton expects 2 of his injured first line players to return this evening. Bobby Robins and Paul Deniset return to strengthen the side unfortunately beaten in Hull last Sunday.
A win tonight would set up a fantastic game for top spot in the EIHL against Sheffield on Saturday night. The Steelers have held the top position for a number of weeks, however the Giants retained 2 games in hand with only 4 points separating the teams. The Steelers still miss Nathan Gillies, however Brad Cruikshank will be hoping to help his new team to victory as the Giants visit Sheffield Arena for the first time this season, the previous games taking place at IceSheffield
The Giants however have not suffered defeat to the hands of David Matsos' side, something Thornton will hope to continue.
