The basement boys returned to the Odyssey and again left empty handed. While three points from 31 games would be enough to make anyone feel a bit of pity, the Belfast Giants needed the points and they took apart the London outfit in some festive style.
Jason Ruff scored the opening two goals in the fourth and twelth minute. Curt Bowen fed Ruff a pass to set up an easy shot in front of the Racers net for the first, while the captain was made to work a little for his second, picking up the loose puck at the boards and working it past Lindsay at the near post.
London had two powerplays either side of the break, but couldnā??t convert and Curt Bowen banged home Giantsā?? third of the night at 24.13. Belfast then got their chance on the powerplay with Bailey in the bin, but a woeful powerplay caused London little worry.
The scores stayed at 3-0 until 51.26 when Brad Kenny rifled a shot from near the blueline past the London netminder. Kenny helped pile the woes on Lindsay when he linked up with Jason Bowen for a 2 on 1 rush down the ice and Bowen settled the game with 5-0 on the scoreboard and six minutes left on the clock.
