Giants final import centre confirmed...
19-Jul-2007The Coors Giants today confirmed the identity of their final import forward - centreman Scott Cameron.
Cameron was a 6th round draft for the New Jersey Devils in 1999 and played for 4 seasons and over a hundred games for their AHL farm team the Albany River Rats.
Cameron also has AHL experience with several other teams and spent 2 successful seasons in the ECHL with the Dayton Bombers - unsurprisingly for Giant's players under Coach Courtenay's leadership, Cameron has also enjoyed a stint with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays.
With the signing of British forward Bari McKenzie on a 2 way contract with the Chelmsford Chieftains recently, the Coors Giants forward lines look to be finished.
Press releases for the Organisation suggest there is only one further signing - an import defenceman left - and that could be confirmed within the next two weeks. Hands up who had "before end July" in the sweepstake for "When will the 07/08 Giants roster be completed?"...I'll bet you cursed your luck at the time eh?
