23-Feb-2007 | Discuss this ArticleThe Coors Belfast Giants have announced that coach Ed Courtenay has re-registered himself as a player and will ice this weekend against the Nottingham Panthers and the Edinburgh Capitals.
Courtenay still has not decided who he will be de-registering as a couple of the Belfast Giants squad are currently waiting on medical reports which will give them clearance to play. Which ever player is de-registered they won’t be able to play again for the Belfast Giants until March 9th as any player must miss 6 games before making a comeback.
The Belfast coach said “Offensively we have been struggling as of late but besides the Coventry and Hull games, our form defensively has been fine, I still have confidence in this team. It will take me a couple of games to feel fit on the ice again but I have been training with the team most of the season in case something like this came up.”
