18-Dec-2006What is it about Sheffield? Once again the Belfast Giants overturned a deficit against the Sheffield Steelers in a hard fought goal fest at Hallam FM Arena. And once again tempers flared with Leigh Jamieson being ejected from the game for his part in an altercation and over 100 PIMs being assessed by referee Nigel Boniface.
Despite trailing 3-1 and 4-3 during the game, the Coors Belfast Giants managed to claim a 7-5 victory with 2 goals a piece from JP Morin, Jason Ruff and Curtis Huppe. Huppe converting a penalty shot in game time, something that has cost the Giants of late in OT penalty shootouts.
Mark Dutiaume rounded things off with a late goal as Lehman skated to the bench to keep up his prolific scoring against his former employers with a 4 point night.
All in all not a great performance from the Giants, but a good win after the 2 OT losses in the prvious 2 games to bring a 3 game losing streak to an end.
