20:16 Well we go out on pens, but from all accounts we did well to get to that point. I wasn't holding much hope for tonight, but instead I had a nervy edge of seat evening. Ah well, time to hit the Robinson's fruit barley and drown my sorrows.

When Vipers scored their "lucky" goal Rob Wilson came off the bench to jump up and down like he had just won the cup! Reminds me of his similar celebrations in Dundalk last night. Paddy also reports on his frustration at us unable to shoot high on MacDonald and follow up on it. Their nettie is fluffing a few long shots but there are no Giants players close enough to benefit from the rebounds. It's not impossible to score a couple of goals in a period and we can still do it!

19:00 Penalty killed. Incidentally Jeff Hutchins gets put on his behind by Stevie Lyle.

18:59 As Shane goes off for an interference penalty, the Giants go straight after the Vipers. Pinning them down in their own zone with some outstanding forechecking.

Interesting that footballers are getting a hard time recently for talking back to officials - had Steve Bennett been reffing the game last night Wilson wouldn't have lasted five minutes - from close quarters he struck me as being a very angry individual.

I rememebr taking a few photos of Longstaff, thinking a vain was going to pop out of his head as he shouted at Cloutman last night.
